Paris (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th December, 2024) The rising value of the digital currency Bitcoin has attracted the attention of major fashion brands. According to Reuters, in recent weeks, French luxury department store “Printemps Huisman” announced that it is joining forces with the world’s largest crypto exchange Binance and French financial tech company Lazy to accept cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, in its stores in France. Previously, luxury brands including LVMH, watch labels Hublot and Tag Heuer, as well as Gucci and Balenciaga, have confirmed their experience with transactions in the currency. David Princke, president of Binance France, said that his company is also in talks with other luxury brands to transact in digital currencies. Luxury lighter and pen maker ST DuPont said it aims to accept cryptocurrency payments in two of its Paris stores before the Christmas holidays. Meanwhile, cruise company Virgin Voyages this month accepted bitcoin as a payment option. Regulators have long warned that cryptocurrencies like bitcoin are risky assets because they have limited real-world uses, but the value of bitcoin has seen a record rise in recent times, thanks to the support of newly elected US President-elect Donald Trump.\932
