In the opening match of Pakistan Super League (PSL 8) season 8, Lahore Qalandars defeated Multan Sultans. Chasing 176 runs, Multan Sultans managed to score 174 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted overs. Multan Sultans' Mohammad Rizwan and Shaan Masood opened the innings and Shaan Masood was dismissed for 35 runs in total scores of 100 while Mohammad Rizwan was bowled for 75 runs after completing his half-century off Shaheen Afridi. David Miller returned to the pavilion after scoring 25 runs while Pollard also got out after scoring 20 runs. Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan and Hussain Talat took one wicket each. In the match played at Multan Stadium, Multan Sultans won the toss and decided to field against Lahore Qalandars. Fakhar Zaman and Tahir Baig opened the innings for Lahore Qalandars, the two players put on a partnership of 61 runs for the first wicket. Tahir Baig was dismissed for 32 runs while Fakhar Zaman played an innings of 66 runs. Apart from them Hussain Talat was outstanding by scoring 20 runs. On behalf of Multan Sultans, Ehsanullah and Osama Mir dismissed two players each. Teams: Both teams consist of these players.
